They don’t seem to be very confident about having a go at goal sooner rather than later. It’s a bit tighter this second half with them coming into it **** me what a save from Mathews a great shot just pushed over the bar. COYWM

It seems very hit and miss at the moment as to who is going to score first as it’s gotten very scrappy free kick to them Mathews collects and stands there watching them fall back into position there seems to be no urgency in our play at the moment. COYWM

Good commentary chip. Keep it up. You can give Marc Iles a run for his money. Mind you don't spill your pint if we score though. :-)

Result that wont win any doubters round but little complaint with a clean sheet and creating chances.
I still dont think out set plays are anywhere near polished and practised enough.
This is sort of what we needed to do months ago. If you cant win dont lose. I know big picture draws werent enough. But to get the fans on side, to get a foundation to build on was so important.
Could have easily gone to Coventry, Doncaster, Rochdale and Blackpool and hosted Wymcombe and gone unbeaten!

A match that we could, probably should have had sewn up in the first half was one we would have lost but for a fine Matthews save with the last touch of the game.
We set off well and Politic should have scored after 30 seconds when the Accrington defence made a mess of a bouncing ball and left him with the ball. It was a difficult hit but he ballooned it well over.
We passed and attacked well from then on. Accrington created little except when Nsiala made a mess of a through ball and let their striker in but, fortunately, their man over ran the ball and allowed Matthews to collect it.
Dodoo had 2 or 3 shots – they were mostly weakfish but the keeper saved one near the post well.
Crawford also had a chance which the goalie saved well.
Overall we were much the better side and played some decent passing football in the first half but we are not the lowest scorers in league for no reason.
Remember the Wycombe match – good in the first half, awful in the second? Well this was very similar except that we (Matthews) stopped Accrington scoring their chances.
Hobbs was replaced by Zouma at half time and we hoped for more decent football but it wasn’t to be. The crisp accurate football just drifted away and poor passing, poor ball control and lack of attacking ideas (our normal way of play this season) came back.
Accrington had most of the ball. Matthews made a great save midway through the half and then with the very last touch of the match also made a cracking save to avoid defeat.
During this second half, we huffed and puffed but created very little. Dodoo wasted the best chance following a mistake when he delayed too long when given a chance.
There was an amazing lack of urgency from the players in the last 15 minutes or so. In a game they should have been desperate to win, they were slow and ponderous over throw-ins, goal kicks etc.
The end of the losing streak but now just 1 win in 14. They are awful figures and with 2 away games before Peterborough at home in a fortnight, the future looks gloomy.
I am desperate for us to set some form of marker for next season. Get a few wins, determine who will be with us next season – I am still not hopeful
Marks
Matthews - 8 Two tremendous saves in the second half. Just one cock-up which he somehow redeemed himself.
Lowe - 7 Steady and got forward well but his centering was terrible.
Nsiala - 6 Steady. One mistake in first half should have cost a goal.
Hobbs - 6 Again steady but, in reality, he is injury prone.
Fleming - 4 Awful second half. He was beaten too often. His forward delivery was really bad.
Bryan - 6 Good first half but faded very badly in second half.
Murphy L - 6 Again a good first half when we saw quite a few good forward passes but like the team as a whole, he faded into a poor second half.
Crawford - 7 Linked the play up very well. Faded also.
Politic - 6 Missed a 30 second chance. Tended to try and shoot too often.
Murphy D - 6 He won a lot of ball in the first half.
Dodoo - 5 Got a fair number of shots in the first half but second half he was slow
Zouma - 5 Still a bit of the headless chicken about him. He and Fleming scared the life out of me in the second half.

Agree with much of what David said. But I thought Dodoo had a reasonable game, good running and crosses, worth a 6 for me. Politic had a poor game, frequently lost the ball with poor passes, also shooting wild, 4 for me. Crawford's corners were a big improvement, but the strikers seem to need more practice in dealing with them. Disappointing not to win, improving football but still unable to convert possession into goals.

Just got home from the game and I'm going to be honest if that was my first visit and if the idea was to get me to go back again they failed but as Bolton Fans we don't have the luxury of saying we will not go back as we all know we are not glory hunter's just fan's wanting to be entertained with a bit of football and maybe once in a while win a few games. Today we should and could with a half decent striker and a bit of luck won that in the first half, as the second half we seemed to sit back a bit to much Mathews really does wind me up as he boot's the ball more often than he should and hold's on to it when we need to get the ball up field ie after the corner near the end when they had committed player's forward he caught it but instead of throwing forward as we had men free he held on to it until they were back in position. Mathew's made some brilliant saves but then second half dived in with his feet instead of with his hands almost costing us a goal but his shot stopping was brilliant. I think we missed Hobb's at the back in the second half any news on why he went of ? . Anyway we didn't get beat and we have a club but we are playing 4th Division football next season. COYWM Good Night I'm of for a pint cheer's all .

I really don't see Fleming as an upgrade on Chicksen - spends far too much time on his backside and Chicksen's crosses were generally better too. The little I've seen of Bunney doesn't fill me with much confidence either. What we really need is a goal scorer though. D Murphy doesn't create enough for others, isn't the first line of defence when out of possession in the opposition half and I'd hate to think what his shots per game percentage is. I'd like to try Dodoo up there once Darcy or the Tottenham lad are fit enough to start.

Its March now and we've not seen the lad. Given that he will take a few weeks to find his stride. What is the point? I would still play Ronan even if he hasnt side and hope that he can see what this club means to fans and how much we appreciate if he would just stay for 2 seasons maybe. Striker wise what are we going to do if and when Murphy and O grady call it a day. Faal has had the famous "how to win friends and influence people" hill treatment.

Can somebody please confirm on the embargo? Isn’t it linked to our debts and finances next year, in that if we settle all the outstanding debts and are proved solvent, then the embargo on buying and loaning players and players wage restrictions can be dropped, or is it a fixed two year penalty embargo, whatever our financial situation. I’m sure I read somewhere that it can be lifted if we are solvent but of course I could be wrong and just imagined it? Obviously it would change things considerably if that were the case if either FV, a new investor, or new owner was to come in and settle things.
