Thought I'd kick this one off early *'scuse the pun), seeing as there's been nothing to read for a while.
The kids fought for a no score draw at the start of the season. What can the journeymen do?
They're only five points off top place, so I really don't see our winning streak going any further.
I'll take a scrappy win, a draw, but please, not a hammering.

Impossible to guess what the score will be wots because we don’t have a clue what the team will be or how many of the new players will turn out. It doesn’t look like the Spurs winger is fit enough to make an appearance so probably Politic will be out wide and according to KH, Mellis is only a 20 minute player at the moment. Whoever plays, I can’t see us being as fortunate as we were at home with the kids so with Coventry pushing for the automatic places they’ll be well up for this one. At least I don’t think we’ll get walloped because we do seem to have tightened the back up a bit, so if we can keep it tight, you never know it might be one of those where we sneak a result. I’m more inclined though to think we’ll just miss out so I’ll go for 2-0 to Coventry.

By the sounds of it wont be many new players in, which is ok as they looked like a settled back 4. Would have liked the option of the spurs guy or any other attacking threat but Politic and Darcy will get more chances.
Task weve got is draw one, win one and not lose for rest of campaign. Easy so draw wouldnt be worst result. Just eaxh draw piles on pressure....well not really pressure. Its expected. I even think relegation confirmation may oddly lift the mood a bit, set us free and allow us to really plan ahead. But still hoping we win next dozen.
1-1.

It’s an away game for both teams and apart from FA Cup semis being held at a neutral ground, how often can we say that??
Still think it’s going to be a difficult game for us, Coventry have been hitting decent form recently, hammering both Wycombe and Trashmere on their soil 4 goals to the good and running Birmingham close in the FA Cup, save for a penalty shoot out
So it’s going to be a tough one for sure, I do think we’ve a goal in us, might even score twice so I’m going all out risky for a 2-2 draw, provides Keith doesn’t tinker with a strong back 4🤔

Ive said this many a time but thats just about finished us off. A defeat means we need two wins to follow whereas a draw keeps us on track, based on us getting 4 points per 2 games.
Bench full of defenders. No real attacking options. Need to get to the core and get contracts sorted and ditch the rest.

I think in reality we were finished some time ago OM but until it’s mathematically impossible the dream stays alive for some. The fact is though, that we just aren’t good enough to get anywhere near the po8nts needed and we’re kidding ourselves to think we are. As we have said numerous times, it’s now time to build for next year so performances rather than results are key. On that basis I think we did ok today, running Coventry close and had we taken our chances could even have pinched a win but I’m afraid without quality goal scorers we will continue to be second best. My biggest question though is where is Ronan? Not even in the squad today and with KH’s known history of falling out with players, I’m beginning to wonder whether not signing a permanent contract like Denis Politic did has put him in the naughty corner? I certainly hope not because were he to leave without doing so it will be either nothing or very little in cash terms for him. Unlucky I think today from the sounds of it but at least if this result finally kills the survival talk we can relax and start to prepare properly for next year in L2. Anyway, my 10 year old granddaughters team won 6-2 this morning, Izzy providing two superb crosses for two of the goals and hitting the crossbar with a volley, to win through to the final of their cup competition, so at least I enjoyed a successful morning in gentle sunshine instead of the howling winds of the last few Saturday mornings. So, onwards to Donny on Tuesday which for me is one of two “home” matches and in which I’m hoping we can ram some of the insults from their fans over our earlier postponement, back down their throats and scupper their play off chances. COYWM.

Yeah I was always hopeful because i think L1 is poor and i thought we were always in a false position based on points deduction and that our season didnt start until Bristol Rovers which was mid October.
So no i hadnt given up but i have now. We cannot win 13/17 and even on Hills October form i dont think we would be much different.
Cant knock them today, its a form team and a narrow loss and nothing like the Accrington, Lincoln debacles.
Getting on to Darcy, im genuinely confused as to how we should play it. We stick him in and he shines and its a whole list of clubs who will treble his money without much thought. Like Luca Connell, could pay treble and stick him on the turnstiles and not worry.
Or we could shun him. Show him a bit of tough love. Maybe a horses head in his bed. We run the risk then of alienating the player and forcing him away.
In truth we cannot win. System in this country is completely wrong. All U21 deals should be 50% sell on fee as mandatory and all squads should limited to players. If youre not registered you can go on loan with parent club footing the bill or ripping up contract with no penalties. Stop Chelsea and the like stock piling young British players just on the off chance.
