Merry xmas everyone, back to matchday and not one for the purist. Phil Parkinsons squad vs a parkinson lite team.
Do we have a chance? On form yes, were sitting top half of the overall form and Sunderland are relegation fodder. However thier home form is decent(no great) and our away form is still very poor. Throw in a bumper crowd and a man desperate to prove the opposition wrong and that may give them enough ammunition to win and win convincingly.
On the flip side. If a bumper crowd get frustrated, fall behind then it can be a real anchor. Fans could turn and players may feel that. For our plucky players we arent expecting much, could seize on this and return with the spoils.
Really hope chip and co have a good day out. Carry on the festive celebrations and find some sort of entertainment.
Draw would be great, win fantastic but would like to see us perform well whatever happens. But i think could be 3 or 4 to our 1 today.

As they say, anything could happen today. I don’t think anyone on either side can feel confident of getting a result up North. Looking at the Sunderland fan sites, they’re a little wary of Daryl Murphy with his 6 goal in 7 games haul and certainly if we can get the ball to him he could make it more but that depends on both the team KH sends out and what their set up is. We certainly have the players to pull off a win but then again, Sunderland have the players to smash us. In front of a big crowd could go two ways. If we start well they will certainly turn on Parky and the players but if Sunderland get off to a good start, we could be in big trouble.
Our defence is atrocious and if we play Bridcutt there again, I think it will cost us. Surely he’s worth far more in midfield than at the back where I’d bring back Zouma instead, however raw he still is. Either way, I would be surprised if we come away with anything because the earlier confidence I had in the team has now evaporated. I’m not saying we can’t get something but I just think Parky will have his players well briefed to bombard us with high balls and Wyke is now starting to look like the goal scorer they signed him as. I’d go for 3-0 to the Mackems but it could be much worse!!
Either way, I hope it’s a good game for those who’ve travelled today and it doesn’t spoil a very merry Christmas which I wish to all.

First things first Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year to one and all. Now for the bad news it's all doom and gloom in Chips house at the moment as my car has blown a head gasket this morning so my car is in the garage being mended and I won't get it back till tomorrow so I have a ticket for the game but can't get to it. The wife bless her has just bought me a £10.00 stream for the game and agreed to pay me my £23.00 for my ticket what a wonderful wife I have. Now then on to the game just hope it's a cracker and won on the pitch and not by the referee I have a feeling 2-1 to the super whites and Parky getting more stick. Have a safe journey up to Sunderland and back home again with three point's finger's crossed. COYWM

I didn’t know there was a stream of the game today so if you let me know where I might invest myself? I’m hoping more than expecting something from today’s game but let’s hope for a good result so that at least that might cheer you up a bit.

Cheers Wots, I didn’t realise it was on iFollow which I’m already signed up to. Question now is, is it worth a tenner to see us get stuffed by Wyke and Parky?

0-0 what a noise all you could hear from the Sunderland fans was we want Parky out and I was thinking I wonder where I had heard that before. Great result but I still think we need a striker that could help our front two out anyone who watched today’s game on the stream from iFollow, did your screen keep blinking all the time I don’t think I will bother with that again COYWM

"You're going where with my boxing day spends???!!! You're staying in lad and I've hidden your six cans too. You can 'ave 'em when I'm done me shopping. Get our Martha ont' phone and tell 'er I'll pick 'er up in a half hour. Bloody cheek, they won't score anyway." A bit more realistic methinks chip. Bleedin' women... ya can't win. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year chip and to all our posters and readers. Including Marc Iles... lol

Has he been sacked yet? What an awful, useless manager he is. Got away with it at Bolton, but he wont get away with it at Sunderland. The clock is ticking Parkinson...…...merry Christmas everyone

HaHaHaHa Wots that's so funny it could almost be true but never mind one point and more pressure on Parky will Ding Dong Do for me 14 point's adrift and plenty of games to go so why not speak softly maybe staying up. Get a few new players in and maybe keep 1 or 2 of the loan player's we have got and Bob's your uncle. Must say this I thought Sunderland should have had a penalty hahahahaha COYWM

Said beforehand a draw would be great and stand by it. Definitely 1 gained for us and 2 dropped, another 2 dropped for Early Man.
I didnt know the P in P45 stood for Parkinson. Guy should settle up at Sunderland, walk away with a 500k payout and find his level at Colchester or Dagenham. Maybe even Chorley but wouldnt wish that on our neighbours.

You’re right OM, unless he starts getting some wins on the board quickly, he will be picking up his P45. Hard to feel sympathy for him though when the situation is so self inflicted. Surely today he should have set up to win right from the start. We’re bottom of the league, have a poor defence and a squad depleted by injury, yet he still sets up with 3 at the back and two defensive mids. Even his subs were like for like, Will he never learn? Still, with a two and a half year contract under his belt he’d be in clover if they did sack him and surely would soon find a team in Div2 to take him on.very hard to see how he will turn it around and it must now be questionable whether the Sunderland owner would trust him to bring in players in January that they might be stuck with. We’ll soon find out but pleased with a point today, I was sure we were going to concede at the end but thankfully we hung on. Good chance now to pick up 6 points and really put pressure on those above us.
