Last league away game shipped 7 so a trip to a club that have 3 of the top 4 leading scorers is not the game we really want or need. Can we take anything from shipping 5 less against Accrington in the cup/shield? Or twice battling back to stop Wimbeldon from taking all the points?
May also argue that performances have been better when we play the higher up teams. Good wins against Brovers, Fleetwood and spirited performances against Sunderland, Portsmouth, Blackpool and Oxford and pretty poor against MKD, Wimbeldon and of course Accrington.
Dont know if any injured players are on the mend as weve been told so little. Bridcutt and Crawford given more info but the rest Hobbs, Buckley, Brockbank and Alnwick.
Think they have too much firepower for us but hope we can make a go of it. 4-2.

Can’t see us getting much here OM and I think you’re being very optimistic with our two goals. I fear for us today if recent performances are anything to go by. The earlier confidence from the good results you mention is quickly receding and I now fear games instead of welcoming them. We have a small squad and most of what decent players we do have are out injured so being realistic I’m afraid I can only see us getting tanked again so I’m going for 5-0 to the Posh.

I’m afraid today will be a good thrashing as we are up against a very good attacking team and with our players being from the bargain basement store I can only see 4 or 5 -1 but we can dream 2-2 hahahaha COYWM

Yes Chip, 1-0 seems reasonable but it could easily have been 2 or 3 in the first half by all accounts. The problem is we aren’t going into games to win them. I accept Posh are a really good team and as you say 1-0 is far better than I expected but since goal difference is already pretty much irrelevant and it’s points we need, setting up as damage limitation doesn’t seem very smart to me. Maybe I’m being too picky and despite the words, maybe Hilly has already given up on this year and is just using games as trials. To be honest I’ve pretty much given up on survival too and if it works out better for the longer term, I’m happy to accept that and look forward to next season, hopefully without penalties, a full squad and proper pre season.

What dreadful defending for their goal. An attack gets cleared to a Peterbro player, Emmanuel wanders out of defence, leaving Toni unmarked. Toni header is accurate but gentle and Matthews stands rooted to the spot and makes no attempt to save. Where did he expect the ball to go?
I agree with Whites that setting out to limit the score is pointless. In our position, the only chance of a miracle is to WIN games!
