I've just watched Newport beat Leeds.
How I wish that Phil Parkinson has also watched it.
Newport went a goal down early but continued to attack. The second half they just attacked and attacked. No sitting back and hanging on.
If only our manager could look at these sort of games and see that it is possible to play attacking football regardless of the opposition.
Shame on Parkinson for his negative attitude yesterday.
Well done Newport And just watch Shrewsbury against West Ham. They are attacking. They may not win but they are entertaining!!

Burke and Cullen on the telly v Shrewsbury let’s see how they do? They both played OK so far. The best of a very poor West Ham team.

Forest Arsenal as well further proving that the FA Cup is still got a little bit of magic. (Shame I have to listen to Robbie Savage)
Personally so glad Mark Hughes got the sack this weekend. What an arrogant man. "Who else is going to do it?" After last weeks defeat and "ive never been involved in a relegation battle" well no because you were removed from the post at QPR. Some managers think they know it all and they have nothing in the trophy room. Brings me on to Mr Parkinson. Of all people I.e his Bradford days you would think he'd know to spot when a premier league team are there for the taking and what effect that has on player morale and fans. A good cup run would have built up that rapport with Parky and got the fans truly back on side.
Mark Warbuton and Simon Grayson out of work. Just saying.

3 FA Cup ties today and what did they all have in common?
The so-called underdog went for it.
They didn't sit back and hope to grab something on the break. They attacked and tried to score goals and all got success.
Well done Newport, Shrewsbury and Forest.
Shrewsbury passed the ball 100% better than we can.
Pity that Rob Holding and Zac Clough had shockers.

I would have urged Parkinson to re watch that original White Hot match against Liverpool at Anfield. In fact he has Kelly and Lee at the club still. Could have asked them directly what that meant to the fans and the club.
It was a one off, standalone match where we could have played a reckless system and just gone out to attack. Instead we go for this laborious, rigid pedestrian style where we know we will be "close". Yes but at the end of the day Phil, when the draw is made it doesn't care if you've lost by 1 or 6. When you're out, you're out!
Stubborn, unambitious, negative and just plain wrong. 8,000 fans for a cheap game on a Saturday afternoon. People do not want to the match anymore. Not whilst the Neanderthal is picking the team.
Going one further I wonder if in the future you may get a "cup coach" it's obvious some managers don't care! No interest. Like resting some players could there be a call for David Lee to take the reigns for the cup games. Let parky stay at home and pick the players, tactics and motivation. I'd be more inclined to go. Parky could even so don't play Vela, Madine or Ameobi and I'm still certain Lee would have put together a more attacking, entertaining game which we could have won.
Maybe that's a ridiculous thought but it seems preferable to me and probably the 15000 absentees.

Steven Naismith allowed to leave Norwich on loan, surely he’d be a great asset for us. Well he would if he likes coming on in the last 8 minutes. Didn’t he once score a hat trick for Everton? Always rated him meself.

Always rated him meself. Against Chelsea too. Works tirelessly but was overpriced and not worth a fraction of the £8M paid. I don't think he's done anything at Norwich to prove he's anything but an SPL player. Bet he's on a lot too. Would have to be a generous split on his wages. Another one where I'm not sure of his natural position and have grown weiry of these types.

I’ve resurrected this thread just to comment on different manager’s attitude towards games.
I have already praised Newport and Shrewsbury for having a go at so called better teams in the FA Cup.
Eventually, they got knocked out but they entertained their fans and gave them something to talk about for many days afterwards.
Well today, Keith Hill at Rochdale had a marvellous attitude towards playing Spurs. They went out and attacked. In the end they could have lost and probably will do so in the replay but what a refreshing approach to the game. Their supporters can have great memories to look back on for a long time.
I mention this to have a dig at our negative manager. If you can recall, he set up purely defensive against a second string Huddersfield and made no real attempt to win the game other than to defend like mad and hope to grab something. So our FA Cup involvement ended with no excitement - just a damp squib.
Well done Keith Hill and Rochdale – you shamed Mr Parkinson.

Just on that thought davidm, look at the route for Hddersfield, after beating us, they went on to scrape a win v Birmingham and had a decent attempt at United at home, that should have been us, but then again, it’s Parky football

In fairness it's not just in cup matches that there's a difference. Parky's just permanently negative end of. I'm no psychiatrist but it seems to me that he probably lacks confidence in his own ability, which is why he never changes anything, just keeps playing the same way, failing or not. I think it's important to bear in mind that he's at a level where he's only failed before, so he's trying to ensure he doesn't do it again. Then again, maybe I'm reading too much into it and he fails because he's just crap.

And going back to davidm’s comments, look at what can n be acheived with a positive attack minded manager over at Wigan!! “Are you watching Parkinson”
