We get called when we say well done when we win and we called when we say things against the team when we get beat you know it's hard to be a football fan. Unless you go to every game home and away and shout and cheer no matter what the result in some people's eyes you are not a fan well blow me with that shxt I work hard for the money I get and I will not throw it away to watch sxit as and when we get a team that can compete week in week out I won't be going so call me whatever and when ever you like. Now before people jump on my back I have been reading the comments on the Bolton evening news website and there are so many comments about people who don't go to games it just pissed me off sorry for my rant.

A great result.
Much needed points.
But what a horrible horrible game of football that was and Cardiff were equally as bad as us at hoofball. The only real difference was that their hoofs went to a Cardiff player whereas ours went just anywhere.
It’s hard to comment on the first half. It was terrible. Bothteams will kill football (and certainly lose fans) playing like this. Cardiff had a couple of good breaks from their wide men and probably looked a bit more dangerous but it was terrible.
Second half, we started sluggishly and Cardiff had most of the ball but were held well by Wheater and Beevers. We just couldn’t keep the ball – our passing (hoofing) was awful.
We bucked up a bit with about 20 minutes to go and got a great slice of luck when the ball hit the Cardiff defender’s arm. Whether it was deliberate, I doubt. So it was a fortunate penalty which, surprisingly, Madine put away really well.
Cardiff had to come at us a bit after that but it was mainly just long throws from Halford and we kept them out OK.
We eventually caught them on the break and Madine broke away on the right. I thought he was going to take in on and try and score but he, unselfishly, passed across to Vela. Not the greatest pass in the world as it went behind Vela but he got to it well to score.
In the end, it was a deserved win.
I think that our tactic was to play to keep them out and, hopefully, grab something on the break which we did so 3 good points but what a poor quality match that was.
Alnwick - 5 Did not have a save to make. He caught a few high balls but that was it. His distribution though was appalling – kicks straight out of play or to the opposition.
Little - 6 Had a difficult time against Hoillett who skinned him a few times. Unlike Darby last week though, he has the ability to get forward and help Ameobi.
Wheater - 7 Very good. Dealt with Cardiff’s high balls well.
Beevers - 6 As with Wheater, he dealt well with high balls but his distribution was shocking.
Taylor - 6 Very good return. Got outpaced a couple of times in the first half.
Henry - 5 I don’t get him. Just ugly, hoof it anywhere football.
Pratley - 6 Similar to Henry but made a few very decent tackles.
Ameobi - 6 Scared Cardiff in the second half.
Buckley - 4 Totally anonymous. Got knocked off the ball too easily.
Vela - 5 Until he scored, anonymous like Buckley. Let’s hope the goal bucks him up for the rest of the season as we need him on song.
Madine - 6 A decent penalty. I was fearful after his Barnsley pen but this was a good one. Also unselfish when he set Vela up with the second goal (although his pass was behind Vela).
Noone - 4 Not noticed.

Well, I said that n the Burton thread that we might have more chances against Cardiff and we did- two. It was an excruciatingly boring game to watch. Nothing but hoofs. No football played at all.
I won't waste any words on the first half. It underlined what tedious tactics we have and Alnwick's kicking was dreadful. Madine wasn't trying too hard and Ameobi was shackled. Pratley fouled and fouled and then fouled and was booked. Madine faked injury a time or two. Awful. The main defensive difference was at full back. Taylor offered nothing going forward but was much more secure than Robinson and Little got forward a bit. Wheater and Beevers were strong but hoofed poorly. Neither. Looks remotely like winning our set pieces.
After about 60 mins we had an unprecedented burst of excitement when Little got a shot in and their keeper and a defender got in a tangle.
Buckley was substituted by No one and unlike at Forest he went right and Ameobi left. It made a big difference. Ameobi began to get round and control possession. We had some corners and then amazingly the linesman on the East side who had an awful game in the first half was persuaded of a penalty. Madine took the ball No. No we all cried. But he crashed it splendidly wide of the keeper. He should quit when ahead. The game livened up a bit then and Ameobi fired a cross hot which Pratley should have converted. No matter- Vela followed in a Madine pull back and despite six minutes of extra time we managed the game out well.
A poor game but three points
Alnwick 4 Little 6 Wheater 7 Beevers 6 Taylor 6 Henry 6 Pratley 4 Ameobi 7 Buckley 5 Madine 6( All second half) Vela 5

Well the Cardiff players obviously didn't listen to my imaginary Warnock team talk. It's an excellent win. It's a big "up yours " from parky to the likes of me and WS63 who have slated him. I'm happy to be proven wrong. We're half way through now and we're in the mix. A point off safety. I still don't see that immediate mini league as being the same at the end because I'm sure Sunderland may back Coleman but I think Millwall will have a worse 2nd half. The Hull game should be a decent crowd and a much improved atmosphere. I wasn't there today OM, but from Marc Iles match report it seems we were as abysmal as usual until we got the penalty then went on to score a very good second by all accounts. Sadly, unlike you I don't consider that a big up yours from Parky because in fairness it was the same old tripe at the end of the day played by the same team using the same negative tactics as usual. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted we got the 3 points and it's just as well we did and if we can go on and get 3 more next week I might just start to relent but just on today's performance I won't be adjusting my view of Parky just yet.

After a nine week i-player free holiday, today it was back to the grind. A very poor game. What sense did it make, given the height of Cardiff‘s defence, to keep hoofing it up to a feeble Madine? And as for Alnwick’s pathetic attempts at distribution, the less said the better. I still cannot quite grasp how we won, but the three points are very welcome. However, I have to say that I am now fully signed up to the Parky Out lobby. he‘s clueless.

Wow. What a difference when they all play hard for 96 minutes. Ken's words and hopefully Parky's bollocking really worked. What they lacked in the technical ability department (lots!) they made up for with desire and hard work rate. Exciting game throughout and they didn't sit back after the first goal. The crowd were willing them on from minute one and continued to do so which should prove to Parky that we do cheer when we see them "wanting it" - well done the lads.
From BBC:
Possession 49% Away51%
Shots Home9 Away7
Shots on Target Home2 Away0
Corners Home3 Away6
Fouls Home12 Away16

Well '63 I will speak for myself only then. I predicted a drubbing, a complete onslaught. So the happy clappers no doubt have me pegged this week (they seem to forget we're still bottom three) would we have won without a penalty? Doubtful. From the sounds of the reports 0-0 was nailed on.
But put this into perspective. It is the equivalent of Swansea beating Man Utd 2-0 at home. You just have to say that was a fantastic result and our keeper did absolutely nothing.
What is also does is show that the Burton game(who won away again) looks now an anomaly and our home form since the Wednesday win is fantastic, more playoff form than relegation. If we carry that into 2018 we have a real chance. Especially if we can do a Burton and pick up back to back away wins from out of the blue.
Should all take a bit of confidence from that excet Stephen Darby who must feel destined never to win a game in a white shirt. Time for him to get back to league one and take a few of his old mates with him.

I agree with all, not much football, plenty of energy, feisty rough and tumble. But a result, much needed. Vela and Madine anonymous, but redeemed by goals. A substitute before the last five minutes, what was up with Parky, he didn't do the interviews either.

It’s a flippin strange old game is football!!!!
Defeat after defeat and PP is still in a job, Gary Monk wins a hard fought game against Sheff Wednesday away and........
Gets the bullet!!
That’s an odd one especially when they are just one win away from a play off spot and even more surprising as Steve Gibson is a patient and supportive chairman, a bit like Ken I guess😬😬😬

That said, any win and a clean sheet against a side second top, however it comes has to be celebrated so well done the lads. I wasn't there yesterday so I can't comment myself but from Andy and Davids reports, nothing much changed other than we got a very debatable penalty which Madine took well. I'm not going to Boro but I am going to Bramhall Lane, so I'm hoping they do better than last season and Madine keeps his trap shut this time!! I actually think the result yesterday saved Parky's job, despite the fact KA has no money so certainly if we can get results in these next two games I might have to join you in speaking well of Parky after all.

Bottom line is that if Parky keeps us up then the style of football will be irrelevant. I get that you want entertainment and £28 a time is too much for anti football, however parky was clearly not brought in to bring some Dutch style total football to the club. He was there to be pragmatic, combative and econimical.

Well said, Oomac! I'm still not sure who we could get to replace PP if Ken decided to take action based on the clamour on here.
Who is affordable, available and keen, is a proven, successful manager, and would provide the entertainment X-Factor that many disgruntled fans seem to want, into the bargain?! Very few in our squad have flair. We are not capable of pass-and-move. Some have very little football brain. Effort and team spirit is all.
To get this bunch of lower-level footballers to play above themselves would take the abilities of a Big Sam, but even he starts from organising a competent defensive base with little regard for entertainment. Then he begins to buy in creativity once the club's position is stable, but will always favour a big centre forward, as PP does.
Yesterday, second-placed Cardiff had ZERO shots on target, so the defence (and midfield??) must surely take some credit for that, but very little praise is given for that vital part of the game on here.
No, I think we will have to be patient, accept our limitations, get behind the team and be as supportive as possible to avoid demoralising the club further.
Just be grateful that the club still exists after the disastrous financial recklessness of previous regimes.

The team is good out of possession, less good in it. It's not good to watch and the team goes into Christmas in relegation position deservedly. But there is hope. Recent home performances have garnered points and we should have won some away. Our aim has to be safety and if we can do good business in the transfer window even if selling and releasing one or two we might just escape. Longer term we have to be less boring!

Yes but you can't have Ken shouting the odds about 20,000 fans a week and then serving up football with 2 shots on target.
In fairness he's tried a few things but the loss of the fanzone was a blow. They really could look to make a Saturday an event rather than standalone match.
There's no question it's a tough balance and it's not just Bolton. Even the best teams in this country have an issue with atmosphere. They just have the comfort of knowing when one fans had enough they're a waiting list.
I personally would like Simon Grayson in charge for the long haul.
