www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27384260not as negative as some on this. not seen enough of him to judge. not saying i rate him..just very much jury out on him for now. a few judged the likes of Pratley and Andrews too early for me. still surprised it's a 3 year deal, we're meant to have financial problems..why commit to 3 yr's straight off. give him a 1 or 2 year deal.. you can always extend IF he does well. but it does surprise me seeing as we have Spearing, Medo, Pratley.. Vela, Mavies..that m/f wasn't top priority to strengthen, i'm presuming we'll sell or re-loan Andrews. and we've also got Stu on top of that, though personally i doubt he'll ever play meaningful ever again, and should only be on a pay as you play contract at best.

Have to say I was amazed at a 3 yr contract. I didn't think we handed out contracts that long ! That pretty much tells me that nobody at the club thinks we are going to be in the prem any time soon.

Ive not seen him play but heard he is not good, in fact Socal's Avatats are more exciting to watch than to watch him try and play. In fact if there were a league for Avatars then Socal would be a box office draw, the Ronaldo of Avatars

I was surprised at 3 years too, but if it was at the right money then I guess it could be worth it if he shapes up. I've only seen him a couple of times, I didn't think he was all that bad, (not saying I thought he was amazing) and the last time I saw him (albeit on an Internet stream) he was breaking the net against Sheffield. Think it's time to jettison some of this midfield with Pratley, CYL, Mavies and Holden (move to coaching role possibly with David Lee) and step up the likes of Vela.
Time will tell I guess.

Can't say I'm a fan of Trotter (the player not the poster)and having seen him in every home game he's played in, I certainly don't see what Andy L sees in him. I'm not even sure what his role is within the team. He doesn't seem to tackle that much, he's hardly got a turn of speed, I haven't seen him pass the ball that much apart from one decent through ball to Juke. Is he supposed to be defensive or offensive? (Although I find the fact we have offered him a 3 year deal offensive)
Most players when on loan seem to bust a gut to earn a contract, I wouldn't say Trotter did that, as he hardly broke a sweat and it makes you wonder if he was trying to earn a contract how bad will he be when he stops trying. It's been documented on here before that Millwall fans described him as lazy.
He could quite easily turn into another Craig Davies a player who Freedman lauded at the time of his signing, but has since been sidelined out of our team and farmed out to another. You would think that if being given a 3 yr contract Freedman intends to play him regularly, does this mean Medo has fallen out of favour (another of his signings)??
Should we have another poor start to the season and Freedman get the boot (hopefully) we will be left with another piece of deadwood that we will be unable to shift and will be stuck with for 3 years.

I think that the only reason he was signed was that his 3 wheeler reliant van would upgrade the types of players cars on the car park...

I think this is a good signing. He's the first player in ages to understand the game's simplicity. He finds space , passes intelligently and links the play really well when it's going for him. He makes the other players look better eg Bogdan who rolls it to him, Mills whose punt rate is decimated and even at times is a weapon and he set up Beckford and Jutkiewicz for a number of chances in games. His block tackle at Charlton was meorable and I wish I'd seen the goal at Sheffield live.I think over a full season he will score 8-10 goals if managed well. OK he's not a world beater and games sometimes pass him by. But he is still youngish. Also in his early games he lacked for fitness but towards the back end of the season he surely gave glimpses of being a real asset. He has a physical presence too. He is not a player whose attributes everyone will admire and he radiates a lazy ambience at times more in terms of perception than fact. But I predict with confidence that if he avoids injury he will impress everyone at least some of the time. It's ages since we've had this sort of simplicity in possession and I hope it continues.

Agree totally - I have been watching him very closely and am very pleased that he has signed for us. Come on HULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

I like the fact that business seems to be being done early. I just hope the young uns who got into the team towards the end of the season don't get over looked and lessen their chances of playing next season.
