HT 1.0 1 shot 0 on target Their keeper has not had a save to make in 45 minutes. Great strike but Howard would have saved it. PP needs to give them the best team talk of the season.

Word of advice Parkinson, next time we're on a run of wins can you throw a game so that we lose?? That way you won't win the dreaded curse of death award
5hittest performance I've seen for a long time against a rubbish side and now Sheff U will go on to beat Chesterfield and we'll start another slide...
Hope not

What a load of rubbish! We were much closer to losing 2-0 than making it 1-1. Substitutes clearly of a much lower standard than those they replaced...which is a big worry considering the "quality" of the substituted players (Howard aside) was poor.

What an absolutely dire performance that was.
Toothless.
I was worried about this match after 2 lethargic performances against Leaguer 2 sides. Once you get into this sort of complacency it is hard to get out of it.
Our first half was dire. Just a poor Clough shot and that was it. We conceded to a superb strike but Alnwick should have saved it. But Peterbro had many chances and well deserved to be ahead.
Secvond half, at least we attacked but it was bad. Two more Clough shots off target and our one and only effort on target from Vela. Possibly should have had a penalty but defeat was well deserved.
Our standard of passing and ball retention was appalling. The number of passes that went backwards was awful.
A totally bad performance. There are too many players in this team who just stroll about. That was not promotion form.
Alnwick - 4 Terrible kicking. Should have saved goal.
Wilson - 4 Very poor passing. Little or no help to Ameobi.
Beevers - 6 Just OK this week. Peterbro forward’s movement gave him and Wheater trouble.
Wheater - 6 Steady but dragged about a lot.
Taylor A - 5 Wide open down the right for their goal.
Thorpe - 4 Just no impact on the match.
Trotter - 4 Our midfield was totally dead. Nothing to contribute.
Ameobi - 4 A bright spell in second half but really created nothing.
Vela - 4 As with Trotter, our midfield did nothing.
Clough - 5 Three shots – all wide. Lost on the left in first half.
Madine - 4 Won practically nothing. When did he last have a shot?
Taylor C - 3 Missed our best chance late on with a terrible shot. I don’t see anything in him at all.

Just watching Chesterfield v Sheffield. Bottom of the table Chesterfield have played more football in 44 minutes than we have in 2 and a half games.

Totally agree DM, watched on NOWTV, paid £6.99 for the privilege, wasted my money, again.

Lay that at the door of our "Manager of the month" David, clearly the award is based on results not performances or else Parkinson would have been nowhere near it. As for football, name me a team that hasn't played more of it than us. Wheater and Beevers have been outstanding this season, thank goodness but if you want promotion you need something at the other end too. A gutless, inept performance like that is only the latest one and unless Parky gives up this hoof it in stuff you can be sure we'll be like Bradford and continue to be nearly men. Madine? Why?

It's an attitude of mind.
The manager was happy with Grimsby and Cheltenham performances. He is in his element preventing the other team scoring with no thought going in to how we are going to score.
We cannot continue to bore the pants off everyone including the TV audience today and expect success.

Sheffield Utd slaughtering Chesterfield 3-1 now.
And it's because they attack.
No boring sideways/backwards passing - just pure out and out attack.

All down to the manager and his attitude. No surprises with Parky, it's what he's always done. If you want an enterprising team, employ an enterprising manager. We didn't and are getting what we will get under Parkinson so get used to it because he's unlikely to change. It worries me when I hear him claiming he can't fault players who put in the effort, as he did last week after the embarrassment at Cheltenham. I'm sorry, but effort is something I expect from every player as a minimum but strikers are paid and in the team to score goals first and foremost and ours don't. Madine especially has had more than enough game time yet produces nothing. KA should be insisting change from Parkinson not just accepting the dross we're being served up this season. The results are false at the moment and don't represent how poor we are. Full marks to the defence but surely with that so solid it's a no brainer to field attacking players who can run at defenders. We don't do that just ineffectively lumping the ball into the box to nobody, or Madine which is the same thing really. McCann showed with De Silva today what a bit of useful exuberism can do so why haven't we seen that with Sammi at least from the bench?
