Hello everyone. Hope that you've all been enjoying the summer. I've been enjoying the Olympics and just waiting for our own Jason Kenny to go for gold in the team sprint.
No one of Olympic stature in BWFC's ranks but as I'm going on Saturday I thought I'd start the thread. The Bolton tickets are sold out but I managed to get a ticket from Wimbledon. So for the first time at a league game for many years I will be standing to watch a match. Only £11 pensioners rates. It wasn't so long ago that I shelled out £42 to watch us play at Chelsea.
No idea what to expect in this brave new world but one thing I know for certain is that if Mark Davies plays he will have a bad game because I've never seen him have a good one.
I will hope for a win to build on the Sheffield defeat (don't think the Blackpool result will have much effect). I saw Wimbledon in the play offs on Sky last Spring and they weren't great. We should be able to beat them but.....
Wow. Kenny just blistered the last lap to get a gold. I'll treat that as a good omen.

Apologies to Calum Skinner who rode the last lap not Jason...but it's still a gold and an Olympic record!

No definitively no Olympic stature though last season we had a keen diver in Wellington Silva. Get used to that gag I predict it will be used a lot this weekend.
Maybe the Blackpool game could have have a positive effect. We lose the 'divine right' mentality and the expectation that comes with it.
From what I've seen of Wimbledon it will be a gritty, physical battle with little quality. Your right about Mark Davies this wouldn't suit him though I'm struggling to find a match that would. I'd go two up front proctor and clayton but doing that means having to find a left winger and for down reason it's not really been addressed that we don't have one. 5 players who can play right back though.
Dons 3 Bolton 0

The heart would love to see AFC Wimbledon put to the sword with some flair and attacking prowess, but the head will be satisfied with another attritional victory... 1-0 would definitely suffice. Along with thekraken and many others, it will be my first official standing match for many years, although standing is becoming almost mandatory at local derbies and similarly well attended away fixtures!

Hi, Ian - long time no see, probably Peterbro in that ridiculous 5-4 defeat.
I'll be there tomorrow - I'll give you a wave.
I agree with greydad - I expect a grind of a match. We will return to the Sheff Utd shape - Wilson and Buxton both playing and we will try and grind out a 1-0.
I went to Blackpool and thought we dominated but have no teeth attackwise plus the total collapse defensively so I expect the manager to revert to a tighter shape.
It will be unusual to stand but am really looking forward to it.
Wimbledon 0 BWFC 1

Nothing to do with tomorrow but wonder if Dean Holdsworth had some mixed feelings about taking his Bolton to Wimbeldon for a league fixture, would have been a time not so long ago that wouldn't have looked likely.
And whilst we're going down memory lane, Wimbledon away was our first ever match as a Premiership team.

Good stat, i reckon Deano will visit there with pride he seems to be well liked there anyway but carrying on the theme of olympics I'm watching a German on a dancing horse winning a gold medal. The match tomorrow - Another match which we must go into showing confidence and resolute in defence and then Nick a goal or two to keep our 100% record. Wimbledon 1-2 Bolton

Yes I went to that first game in the Prem. We lost 3-2 and Deano got the winner! It was played at Palace's ground.
DavidM - good to see you've got back your appetite for long distance away travel. Have a safe trip and I'll look out for you. AndyL is going too so along with Greydad there should be no shortage of match reports!

Although I correctly, luckily, predicted the correct score v Sheff Utd I'm inclined to say that PP doesn't really know what unpredictability he has at his disposal with the crop of League One misfits and he surely must realise the amount of luck he used up in that game as by all accounts, we could have lost by a 3-0 scoreline. I'll go for a dour 0-0 or 1-1 (edging my bets here) When will Mark Davies wake up and realise that he was once much favoured when he was a Prem player, I refuse to believe that he's THAT bad that he actually looks like he came from the conference and has fortunately found his rightful place in this league Still Best wishes PP COYWM

I know the starting line up but have no clue where anyone is playing. Except Howard, if football league rules allowed "flying netters" i would be well and truly stumped.
Can anyone arrange the 11 in a formation for me please?

2 wins out of 3 ain't bad to start with and definitely a good thing that we have gotten rid of the EFL early on, that's one less distraction to worry about even though it peeved me off that the Seasiders disposed of us but like I say, let's just aim to get out of this league with maybe a decent FA cup run just to let folk know we re still around Nice to see Coyle ruining the Dingles of Blackburn. They will be in this league next season How did Mark Davies manage to get 60 mins today? From what I heard, he was useless and he deliberately handled the ball. What a waste of talent Anyway Well done Wanderers

What a waste of talent Anyway Well done Wanderers I would say 2 wins out of 2, the cup is a no no for me, never going to win it besides P.P picked a different weakened side, saying that and knowing we have just won our first away game in 500 days I am delighted for all who follow and support BWFC we should all celebrate with the knowledge that we are top of the league even though we are only 2 games in, winning is the best thing in the world for any team.
