Typical. We beat Blackburn and a few other results helped us, we get done today and again, some of the other results should have helped us. We could have been a point behind Rotherham, how good would that have looked (how desperate am I now)

I did mean to go on and say that with a new boss and fresh ideas we could actually climb to safety only to be then nabbed by the administrators!!!! How crap would that be??

Exactly weststandlower. A bench has to be picked and fit for purpose. Neil's is all too often drawn randomly from those he (wrongly)thinks not good enough. Yesterday he could have withdrawn any of Clough,Madine or Feeney pretty much from 25 mins on. Midfield was being overrun. But suppose Feeney was on the bench or Madine or Clough or all three. We let Trotter go before everyone was for sale. We won't use Medo. Derik impressed in early games and now returns. Yes Walker had some good appearances.. I think Twardzik too shows some skill. Wilkinson was once thought promising enough to start!
Yesterday we saw an abject capitulation and a tactical disaster. It was a winnable game played and managed in a way which has lost so many points. The financial context is dreadful but that isn't what's losing these games! 8

I thought Neil was outmanoeuvred by his opposite number. In interview he was surprised at a lack of legs. Doh. One sub used and that Silva. His one decision made things worse

And that's the end of that, admin here we come start next season on minus 12 points . owdonlad, I think I would prefer the 12 point deduction now, because we are going to be relegated anyway, so the 12 points wouldn't make a difference, but to start a season 12 points adrift would just send us down another division. I have been of the opinion for a long time that we would be relegated this season. We ended last season badly, the pre-season was poor and we never got started this season, all pointers towards relegation. The game against Blackburn offered some false hope that maybe, just maybe, we could fight our way out of this situation but once again this pile of no-hoper prima donnas reverted to type and capitulated after about 20 mins of the game. Were they just putting on a show for the cameras, in the hope that someone better might come in with an offer for them? They certainly showed that they can put in a performance if they try hard enough, so WHY AREN'T THEY DOING IT FOR EVERY GAME? They can't use the excuse that Huddersfield are a better team than Blackburn!!! Had they all been out on the lash for New Year, cos none of them looked fit? Madine was absolutely knackered come about 25mins and won nothing in the air and yet Amos still punted the ball down field in search of his head, apart from when he was kicking the ball out of play over the sideline (what is it with this fascination of kicking towards the sideline???) Our one and possibly best goal scoring chance had to drop to Feeney didn't it? and although his shot was a good one, he had an area of 192sq ft to aim for with only the goalie to avoid and he managed to hit a piece of post approx 4" in width, apart from that he offered nothing. What exactly was Amos doing prior to their first goal? Prince did a wonderful block but for some reason Amos was right behind him and stranded on the 6yd line, leaving an absolutely open goal for Huddersfield to take advantage of. Much as I like Clough, he is much too lightweight and needs to bulk up or harden up a bit, he gets knocked off the ball much too easily, and probably should have done better with the chance he got to equalise. Davies was anonymous for most of the game, barring perhaps his one pathetic attempt at a tackle just before they scored their second goal. For big chunks of the game our defence worked tirelessly and effectively, with Moxey getting forward a few times, they were covered just about enough by our midfield, until Lennon inexplicably removed Holding who for the most part had done nothing wrong, swapped Vela to right back and brought on the worse than ineffective Silva and weakened the midfield even more, causing them to be overrun and the defence just crumbled. Before Silva came on, and Feeney ran to the touchline, I, for one brief, joyous moment thought he was actually going to be substituted, but no, he was just getting instructions as to the change of shape (I assume) Substitutions once again proved to be our undoing. Huddersfield's being successful, ours being the straw that finally broke the camel's back. We should have taken the opportunity to get rid of Lennon after all the exposes in the papers the other weekend, no doubt the only reason he ever had the players staying in hotels the night before home games and travelling from Standish (?) to the match, was so that he could see his fancy woman/women, surely that must have been reason enough to sack him on gross misconduct. We bottled out and we are now stuck with him. he has proved he has no integrity or he would have resigned by now, more fool him, which football club in their right mind is going to give him a job after this?? I am ashamed to be a Wanderers fan at this moment in time.

If you want some therapy to ease the pain of being a Wanderers fan currently, try watching the cricket from Cape Town:- a million times more excitement today than at the Macron most days, and enough national glory in the record-breaking performances this morning to galvanise pride in a team we can support without embarrassment right now.
Have to add that the simple reason Lennon doesn't use subs in a hurry is because the options on the bench usually look even less promising or reliable, with the exception of perhaps Spearing. I presume that the performance in the first half-hour was enough to make him believe that they could reach the same heights again after a stirring team-talk and a break at half-time. By the time it was clear that the 15-minute rest had done nothing for energy levels, it was too late to recover. At least, we now all know that Wellington is not the answer to our attacking problems! Send him back! The fitness of our players is disturbing. Who is the trainer and what exactly is being asked of the squad? Many of them can do much better than at present:-see last week!

I am not sure if we have a choice ,I think that if we stay up(not a hope ) then next season we start on -12 if we go down the same thing -12 ,don't think it will be applied to this season .

Totally agree Andy. You might not have seen the latest, but your man Trotter appears to be back with us. Haven't seen that but if so he's better than most others for midfield. Will have to see if he can impress Feeney enough to be selected

Haven't seen that but if so he's better than most others for midfield. Will have to see if he can impress Feeney enough to be selected I cant find it either ,were is the news ? Official BWFC website states:-
Midfielder back at the club after recent loan stints with the Reds Liam Trotter has returned to Bolton Wanderers following the expiration of his recent loan deal with Nottingham Forest.
Having initially linked up with the Reds back in October, he has since seen his loan extended but will now return to his parent club.
The midfielder made nine appearances for Forest, scoring a last-minute equaliser against Ipswich on his debut.
The 27-year-old will now link up with the Whites ahead of the weekend's trip to Eastleigh in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Can't see him making a difference. Lennon's stubborn side means that people rarely get a second chance. His comments today about not being tactically undone but by the players not playing well enough. Total rubbish.
Seen way too many times this year a players getting the ball and running through the middle of the park. They cut us up every time and I say "they" these aren't brilliant players. Its any opposition. Its calling out for Medo for me but god knows what he's done.
Lost the players clear to see. Really wanted Neil to succeed. What a start he made, galvanised the players, united the fans got every thing right but like Coyle and Freedman unable to learn from mistakes made time and time again.
