Bolton versus Huddersfield with another 3 points up for grabs, listening to recent reports Huddersfield play open attractive football with quite a few admirers so I cannot help to think that footballers need a good surface to play that way and that makes me think Huddersfield will relish playing at the Macron with its superb playing surface so I'm afraid to forecast a defeat (sorry)
Bolton 1 Huddersfield 3

Think we need to approach this game like Sam did against Arsenal and batter and harry them into rushed passes and mistakes. Fingers crossed the team is up for it again and we get the three points. Two clean sheets in a row...can see it myself so will go for a 2-1 win!

It'll be like playing at home for them in their 'sister' stadium, but I'm hopeful that our last and only bit of 2015 luck might carry us into 2016 and give us the win. (Happy New Year forum members by the way) it's only chuffin Huddersfield for cryin out loud COYWM 3 more points and you'll have me believing in Lennon (not)

We need to improve on our last performance. I would think it will be the same team. Silva or Walker instead of Feeney would be an option as would Spearing for one of the midfielders. Holding will have a sterner test from Wells who will sneak inside him. Difficult game but very winnable. We could need careful and timely substitutions-

39% possession. At home, no shots on target. They're hardly playing bayern Munich either.
I really have to assume that Liam Feeneys appearance bonus is a lot less than everyone else's.

What an absolutely appalling match. Perfect chance to build on what they started and they muster up 1 shot on target when they're already a goal behind. Huddersfield use a sub and he scores. On the field you can see that Lennon isn't good at setting a team up, motivating and using a game plans. On the bench you can see that Lennon is useless at spotting talent and signing players. We're paying wages(well we sometimes pay) for Rachbuka, Osede, Spearing, Danns, Dobbie and Pisano and not using them! Not to mention Heskey and Ameobi who aren't fit! Ever.
Sack Lennon, Walford, Parker along with the stumps without paying. Let them take us to tribunals where we'll be bankrupt by the time that comes around.
Bring in someone who will who can pick a team who try and score. Play the bloody kids.

Dean Holdsworth for manager!!!!
No no That really was a joke with no humour, but stranger things have happened..
Tragic, powder puff start to 2016. Like I've mentioned before, they're all clueless, gutless, w4nkers that are stealing what little money we can give them. Them players really should be playing for free unroll they can get us clear of the drop.
That said, we really truly are thee worst team in this league and that's why we're going down Sad times ahead

A really poor defeat caused by really poor managerial judgment. It was the same game we have seen so often this year. A bright start, none better than Feeney for 20minutes, but our unfit team gradually stops pressing and loses possession. We had as ever a couple of chances but missed them and we spurned one or two other shooting chances. Yet again we were really vulnerable to conter attacks and only escaped a penalty and red card when Prince presumably got something on the ball as he lunged from behind
At the back the four defenders were doing OK and made some good tackles but our upfront threat diminished.Clough was really weak to n the challenge. Madine won nothing in the air and jumped for precious little. Feeney switched sides and began playing for them starting a few counter attacks and his game reverted to what we all know it is.
Pratley was booked. How rare!
We went into the interval completely overrun in midfield. It was obvious that Neil needed to bolster midfield and withdraw Madine,Clough or Feeney.
The second half saw them take up where they had left off. They had two quick chances one of which Prince rescued. When the goal came it was passed into an empty net. Amos had taken it upon himself to cover Prince and of course with the shot now being to his right he made no attempt to recover-a really poor goal following a breakaway that Vela couldn't cover.
Their manager being a proper manager had encouraged lots of possession play not least at the back with three or four players receiving from the keeper and as ever he was first to make a sub. The half time sub cemented Huddersfield's stranglehold. Neil of course itching to revert to his preferred airy fairy wingers messed with defence took off Holding put Vela at right back depleted midfield and we barely saw the ball again. Silva lost it every time he had it Just before the ill judged substitution Clough had fired wide. Just after Madine passed to Sikva instead of Clough in front of goal and with that ended our challenge
They made two further subs the first scoring straightaway after Amos got in a muddle and failed to hold a ball at the opponent's feet. He had made a good save to his left to keep us in it but otherwise was woeful
Poor predictable game thrown away by bad management
Amos 4 Holding 6 Prince 6 Wheater 6 Moxey 6 Feeney 3 Pratley 5 Davies 4 Clough 3 Madine 3 Vela 5 Silva 0

A game of 3 thirds!
First third, we were excellent – should have been ahead, unlucky not to be. Second and third third, we were totally outplayed and could have conceded 5 or 6 goals so dominant were Huddersfield.
We set off tremendously. We harried and put Huddersfield under tremendous pressure as they tried to pass it out from the back. Moxey put a lovely centre in which Madine headed wide; Madine headed on to Feeney who broke clear only to hit the post – very unlucky. After 20/25 minutes, we were all over them.
But then something, I don’t what, changed.
Huddersfield continued passing the ball out from the back and suddenly were all over us. Shouts for a pen from them when Prince lunged in and possession was all Huddersfields. I was happy to get to half time at 0-0.
Second half, I expected some response to Lennon’s half time talk but NOTHING.
The match continued as the previous 20 minutes and Huddersfield’s midfield just ran at us. Prince cleared a shot off the line, another shot just skimmed our post, Amos made his one and only save until the inevitable happened. The Huddersfield player Lolley just ran and ran at us until the edge of the box and then shot. Prince blocked the shot but the ball ran back to him to hit into an EMPTY net. Unsure where Amos was, unless he had dived for the first shot but where were our other players? Not for the first time, not one in sight.
And it just continued. Wellington came on, Clough had a shot just wide but then Huddersfield scored a goal that the whole Bolton team should be ashamed of.
Huddersfield had the ball at the back and just passed it around between themselves endlessly. Eventually it got into one of their midfielders who, yet again, just turned and ran through our dreadful midfield. Mark Davies made an awful attempt at a tackle which missed and, lo and behold, they were at the edge of our area for another shot. This shot was again blocked (see the first goal) and bounced loose for the Huddersfield sub (note a sub Mr Lennon) to hit into an EMPTY net. So similar to goal no1. What were our players doing other than standing watching?
The last hour of this game was a disgrace and is why we will be relegated.
One extra comment:- after last Monday’s discussion re the Premiership referee, what a good ref we had today whoever he was!
Marks (which I thought would be high after 25 mins but we were eventually awful):-
Amos - 4 Terrible distribution. At least 3 kicks went straight out of play. Flapped badly and escaped with a corner. Probably couldn’t have done much with the goals but he looks so shaky.
Holding - 5 Unlucky to be subbed as he did not do much wrong.
Moxey - 5 Fabulous early centre for Madine header but, like everyone else, after 25 minutes it all went.
Prince - 4 A couple of really good tackles but some horrendous defending after that.
Wheater - 5 Won a lot in the air but was caught wanting badly when Huddersfield played the ball on the floor.
Vela - 5 Got caught too often and could not dominate midfield.
Pratley - 3 Absolutely awful. Headless chicken who got caught time and time again with Huddersfield’s midfield just running straight through us. Must be the worst captain we have had for years as he contributes nothing but stupid fouls. Booked yet again. Please someone come and buy him!!!
Feeney - 3 After 20 minutes, he would have been MOM with 8 or 9 points but after that everything he did was wrong.
Davies - 3 Another who stood and watched Huddersfield’s midfield run through. He was the initial contributory factor to goal no 2. Terrible.
Clough - 4 Disappointing as nothing came off for him. He struggled all match to get in the game and put his best chance just wide at 1-0.
Madine - 4 Put a header wide early on from Moxey’s excellent centre but then struggled to hold the ball.
Wellington - 1 Hopeless. If we are short of money, send him back to Arsenal. His only thought was to try and win a penalty. No thought whatsoever as to where his teammates were. Manager - 2 What was said at half time because we just carried on from the last 20 mins of the first half and allowed Huddersfield all the possession. And why only one sub? We were losing, being totally outplayed but his only answer was Wellington. By the way, Feeney and Wellington can’t be on the pitch at the same time as our midfield is overrun. We knew that before today, so why do it?

I watched back a bit of Neil's interview. He seems to comment 'we were on top but missed chances; our heads dropped when we went behind etc etc. Doesn't he realise that he has the power to arrest this patter. It's not inevitable. He could try making subs in a timely way. He could pick a bench.. For example I doubt we have a better sub than Feeney. The first twenty today played as a sub would be game changing. But he starts him week in and week out never subs him and as a result we play with ten for mist of each game..on a good day. Today as I say he seemed to be playing for them much of the time
Also it's fine to try two up top but when swamped why not revert to one. Madine and Clough were spectators and with Silva and Feeney on with them we had no chance of a comeback. It seems to me that these are obvious points?

I agree, Andy
We just don't seem to be able to react to the position we are in - be that match by match or during a particular game.
It was obvious today that we were overrun and in his interview on the radio, he said he tweeked things at half time. Anyone any idea what that was?
Your description of airy-fairy wingers is spot on.

It's all very well talking about the timing of subs, but look at those named on the bench. I don't think there was a "game changer" amongst them. Woolery and Walker may be young but Walker showed last year that he was capable of contributing. Dobie on the other hand, apart from his solitary goal looks a poor player. Wilkinson, who I understand has been sent back by Barnsley, maybe worth another try.
After 20-25 minutes we looked to have run out of ideas. I too was glad to get to half time still level. I expected renewed athleticism after the break but what we got was more geriatricism. We may lack some skill but there is no excuse for lack of effort.
