Had to start this thread early as my anger is looking for answers
Is this to be the Johnson Clarke-Harris show as a reminder to what we are lacking or will Adeboyejo find his hat-trick boots!!!
I fear the former…🤔
Port Vale, thumped SEVEN NIL in their opening game, what do they do about that???
They respond in the only way possible winning 7 out of the following 9 games in all competitions, drawing 0-0 in the other 2, that’s promotion form
THATS how to respond Ian (Wigan - Reading) And based on that, we all want and need a win
Will we get it???
My honest answer…
NO
At best a 1-1 draw in front of a bumper family day 20,000 crowd, because that’s what we do best (or worst - whichever way you look at it) Kioso as captain and JCH (we don’t need him we have Jerome) and in scoring form yet again, could bite us on the arse
We are not as good as Ian has us believe, the deluded prat

I agree on Vale Rioch, fantastic response after their initial drubbing and somewhat different to our tanning by the pie eaters but I’m not as pessimistic as you for tomorrow. The last couple of times we’ve played Posh Rico has had JCH in his pocket and the only fear I have is the ref given the physicality of Ricos challenges and the refs past history with him. We should be better than them as we were last week against Reading but the same doubts arise regarding goals. Hopefully with a few pain killers Dion will start and be looking to make up for his misses last week as should Victor. We can only trust that they will so I’ll go 2-0 to Wanderers.

I can’t see Darren Ferguson being that fussed about Ian’s gamesmanship over the ‘will he won’t he’ saga surround whether Dion will be playing tomorrow but if he doesn’t play then at least we can really see where we are without him and can we cope!!!
Very much doubt it Think we could be in for another beating

Does it surprise me that the two games we've lost have been from championship drop outs, despite one being a crisis club, after Ians "this league is easier than last year" quip which undoubtedly was printed off and stuck around the changing room.
I'm sure "Clarke Harris doesn't fit into our system" may be similar bait. Hes prolific. Top scorer. If he doesn't fit the system but Dan Nlundulu does then I give up.
On par with David Moyes saying he's not sure if Harry Kane is the right sort for West Ham.
I sense a real change in direction with Evatt. I don't think it's just the twitter either think the mainstream are questioning?
I don't like the guy, think he's a bit of a charlatan to be honest, ego that his skills don't match and will be found out eventually. I think he got lucky with us being the right mix of naive and wealthy to back him and kiss his ass along the way but part of me feels this is the start of the end.
I'd have more respect for Evatt if he realised his way wasn't always the best way. Go 451/433 and attack but he never will.
Just annoyed that people talking about hindsight. Rubbish, fans knew that this strike force was a load of crap last year. Ian signed up a flop. He wasn't even good at Cheltenham. He's no good. Our midfield is soft as marshmellow. And there's zero leadership in the team. And we had chances to rectify it and didn't and now it's all "in hindsight"

Crikey OM, that’s a pretty definite view of Ian and I assume from it that he’s not on your Christmas Card list? I don’t know him personally obviously so I can’t make any comment on what kind of a guy he is. I certainly think he’s driven and confident in his own ability and it’s hard to deny that he has been successful to a degree despite his inexperience. The players seem to like and respect him, other than one or two we know of that is, so unless they’re telling lies he must have something. Whether he is good enough to get us promoted we’ll have to wait and see but whilst I wouldn’t argue that there are some things I’d like him to do differently I’m not anywhere near as dismissive of him as you are. I think he did want to stiffen up midfield in the summer but money seems to have been a stumbling block on that. He stuck his neck out with Dan and even with Victor and Jerome to be fair plus the question mark over Bods fitness. Obviously they’ve all underperformed and let him down so far so it’s understandable questions are being asked. Victor I’m not really worried about as I do think he’ll deliver eventually but Dan for all his undoubted ability just doesn’t look to have the instincts of a striker to me. Clearly Evatt sees something there so let’s hope he’s right. Footballs after all a team game and I’m actually as worried about the lack of goals from other positions than just the strikers. We’ve been awful from set pieces and corners since a Evatt came and it’s disappointing that he hasn’t seemed able to improve it since he himself was a powerful centre half. I’ve more confidence in Evatt than you have but I still don’t go into any game against any opposition truly confident we’ll win because the players have let us down so many times. We have to win tomorrow if belief is to return and I think we will so I’ll go for a 2-0 win to Wanderers.

An important game today after last Saturday’s dismal fade away.
I am a little sick of hearing all the tales of injuries all this week.
Yes, maybe Charles will be missing but we, supposedly, have a strong squad.
I accept that Toal is also out but we will get that throughout the season as players will be suspended – Thomason must be close to a ban.
Of the other injuries, Mendes-Gomez and Maghoma would probably have got no closer than the subs bench.
I can see Forrester coming in for Toal - not Iredale.
If Charles is out, I would go for just 1 man upfront and play an additional midfielder. Sheehan, Thomason, Morley and Dempsey make quite a formidable midfield.
Unfortunately, we are weak upfront but I would put Adeboyejo on his own.
If, because of our injuries, we have a weak subs bench then perhaps we should stop this ridiculous mass substitutions midway through the second half and play the 11 players we start with for 90 minutes. That would be revolutionary.
Anyway, after a little moan, I think we are more than capable of winning. The defence need to be awake this week instead of sauntering through the match like last week. Midfield needs to play like against Derby and dominate and, of course, we need to score.
I will go for a 2-1 win.

I agree with most of that David, especially the substitutes bit which always seems to weaken us. Why on earth does Evatt keep doing it? Personally with Toal out I’d play Iredale rather than Forrester. Much as I like Forrester he’s right footed and I always prefer a natural left footer on that side. I actually can’t see where all the criticism of Iredale at LCH comes from because I don’t think he’s done much wrong unlike at wing back where he’s poor. We have to wait and see what the team is but I still think we’ll have too much for Posh and win 2-0.

So Santos doesn’t get the chance to put JCH in his back pocket!!!
Got defeat written all over this
I do expect JCH to put Evatt’s words down his throat “We don’t need JCH” 🤔🤔🤔

Ah well it’ll be a tough day for our central defenders that’s for sure and I fear corners and crosses into our box now. Toals stupid bookings last week now set to cost us big style if we don’t have our shooting boots on. Time for the strikers to step up and save the defence for once. I still think we’ll win but it will be a nervy one. 🥴

Won’t be long until Evatt gets his customary booking
Hands are already waving frantically
Has anyone noticed if we’ve contributed anything to this game yet, 30 minutes in??
Blackpool 3-0 up against Reading!!! 🤔🤔🤔
