Well it’s almost upon us.
The BIG ONE Can we recreate the Wolverhampton Wanderers epic of 95 one wonders 28 years have passed but it steel feels like yesterday at Wembley v Reading Leading up to that wonderful final v the Wolves 14th May 95 Lost away leg 2-1 17th May 95 Won home leg 2-0
Now it’s the turn of the Tykes Home leg 13th May Away leg 19th May
Since we did them at their place 3-0 in January, where they had a torrid month, when they went on to two more defeats, 3-0 defeat at Derby in the FA Cup, 2-0 at Charlton, they haven’t done that bad at all, in fact, they’ve done really well.
Feb : 5 wins out of 6 yielding 16 goals for, just 3 against
March: 4 wins out of 6, 12 goals for, 6 against, but beating Wednesday, Wycombe AND Plymouth along the way
April: 4 wins from 8, couple of 5-0 and 5-1’s in there, but crucially, scored 19 goals, ok, they let 11 in, but nineteen, n n n n n n n n nineteen
I fancy us against Wednesday or Posh at Wembley, but beating Barnsley is going to be a tough ask and I’d be ever so grateful if the BN didn’t make us sound like we’re already at Wembley
Come on you WHITES Let’s do this⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Flippin eck What has just happened to Sheffield Wednesday
They’ve just been mullered by the Posh 4-0
They’ll not be coming back from that
So it’s Peterborough in the final I’d say I bet Wednesday wish they hadn’t beaten Derby on the last game and allowed them to sneak into the play offs than be tonked the way they have been tonight
Bloody hell🤔🤔🤔 So the Yorkshire final looks very unlikely doesn’t it🤔🤔
Let this be a stark warning to all at BWFC on Saturday, take nowt as a given, earn it and leave everything out in the pitch

Important game today.
Important in terms of giving a good performance and also important in still being in the game for the 2nd leg (unlike Sheff Wed).
With the Jones injury, most of the side picks itself:-
Trafford
Bradley, Toal, Santos, Johnston, John
Morley Sheehan, Dempsey
Charles and Mr X?
(and can we have a keeper on the subs bench please!).
Who will the Mr X? be?
I think the manager has Nlundulu in mind for this. Despite his good goal last week, none of Nlundulu, Adeboyejo, Jerome or Kachunga fill me with optimism. One of them must play so let’s hope whoever it is stuffs my negativity over them back onto me.
I am optimistic as usual. As I said above, I feel that it is vital not to lose today. A draw or a win will keep the tie going but obviously a win is ideal.
As for the score, I am hoping (dreaming?) for a 2-0 win.

Unfortunately can't make today's game but I will watch it on IFollow for me we need to throw the seasons game book out the window and try and play like the Wembley game lot's of attacking get the ball forward faster and put them under pressure early on and for ffs shoot I fancy another trip to Wembley onwards and upwards COYWM

Some result last night for Posh and if Wednesday weren’t already down after missing the automatics they must be absolutely gutted. I do think Posh were more than a bit lucky last night, everything seemed to go for them and there’s no way they’d get the room they got against us if we do meet them in the final. Strangely I still wouldn’t completely write Wednesday off in front of a massive crowd at Hillsborough. A couple of early goals and who knows, stranger things have happened, though I admit it’s unlikely? As far as todays concerned I think it will be close and one goal will do it. Hopefully we’ll get it but as I’ve said before, I’d actually fancy us more in the away leg that at home where there’s less pressure and onus falls to the home team as their fans get restless the longer the game goes on and the minutes run down. For that reason I think we’ll win both legs 1-0. As for the team, I think it’s as David indicated and I think he’ll start with Dan alongside Dion as IE needs to see more of him to decide if to try and keep him next season.

Not sure what my reasoning is behind what I’m about to say but I can’t say as I’m totally comfortable with Santos and Toal returning.
Would it stop a complete shut out of the Barnsley attack, ummm, no, will we win many aerial battles with them, ummm, not so sure, can they talk the talk and control the game, ummm, possibly
Just hope we don’t lose focus if we were to go a goal down but I fear a cautious approach with Santos and Toal, playing hundreds of sideways passes rather than an all out attack minded game plan
We shall see. There’s 18 other teams would love to be on our position today so let’s not waste this great opportunity to surprise and upset the pundits with a famous win

Barnsley have dealt with everything with ease
We are minuscule threat up top and the Tukes have had Kacha and Dion in their pockets
We have a decent midfield but they’ve not took hold of it at all
Barnsley look the more comfortable and are more of a threat than we are
Come on Ian, we are better than this

That was so poor we’re letting Barnsley boss us all over the pitch although I think the defence has done well, especially Rico but will he last the full 90 on such a hot day? We are presenting no threat at all at the moment so I don’t think it’ll be too long before Dans on. I don’t think radical changes in personnel are needed just a bit more movement and a quicker tempo. We’re losing out on every second ball and the long balls just aren’t working out. Hopefully a better second half.

Just feel that the way Ian’s gone for this is based on their threat attacking us rather than the other way around

Got to be honest, I don’t want us to pass our way to death but these long punts are being taken care of with so much ease
