Not sure what to write🤔🤔🤔
I guess, winning breeds confidence, but had we needed to win to stay in the playoffs, this would be the one I wouldn’t fancy!!
So after this game…. Battle of the Roses, hardly
Win it and we face Barnsley, lose it (Derby or Posh win) and we face Wednesday
Who do I fancy? Who could we beat in the PO Semi’s? Impossible to answer really. On our day, we are a match, if not greater, than both the Yorkshire sides and I do hope it’s a send off of biblical proportions for Traff and Bradders
I think the PO’s for League One looks a more interesting battle than the Championship PO battle, much much bigger teams than Luton, Millwall, Coventry and Boro
Come on you WHITES, let’s turn off The Gas⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

So Ian Evatt has been given a new 3 year contract
It’s well deserved (he said through gritted teeth) and I’ll have to back him even more now, but will the club be backing him with more investment cash for team improvements?
Once Traff, Bradders, Shitehire, Nlundulu and Mbete go back to their parent clubs, we will also have unanswered questions on Kachunga, JDB, Jerome, John, the squad will be very thin on the ground in terms of numbers and quality, regardless of which league we will end up in!
Perhaps Evatt getting this extended contract will somehow turn out to be the best signing yet, one wonders
With one promotion and one trophy in 3 seasons, there’s the foundation for a brighter future, but he needs cash to back him

I'd like to keep Trafford and Bradders but I think, if made available, Bradders would get some game time in an established Champ team but not be a regular starter. I can't see Trafford being a regular starter in an established Champ team so he would have to be satisfied with a cup game or two. Apart from experiencing a different environment elsewhere he would get a better playing workout if he came back to us (assuming the inevitable promotion for us ). In my view therefore, if we go up, we have a chance of getting him back.
Mbete needs a bit more L1 experience so if we stay down, I'd have him back. Shoretire (I liked you misspelling). I think Nlundulu was trying too hard so did not excel. I read there's a good chance of him being released, so he's worth a contract at the right price.
Which ever league we are in, only Kachunga stands a chance of a new contract. Hasn't Jerome go a year left? I thought he signed for 18 months. JDB is was only an impact sub, so don't think he will get a new contract. Evatt and John don't seem to have a harmonious relationship so I cannot see it being renewed. Shame because he does have talent.
We need a couple of new midfielders - with some height and a goal scorer or two with development value. We are interested (amongst others) in Zach Robinson from Wimbledon who has done well at Dundee on loan. No development value but Teemu Pukki is out of contract at Norwich and is an alternative to Kachunga. We are also linked with Danny Ward. Again, no development value but he's looking a bit porky to me these days.

Weststand, Trafford has already said Bolton are not in the equation next year regardless of if we get promoted. Fair play respect that.
I hope we can get the same sort of clarity from Bradley and know how many right wing backs we need. Definitely one, two if we lose Conor. Feels more like when.
Sunday I wouldn't want to lose momentum bit think Toal needs more game time, Santos if he is going to feature. Charles could do with a rest. Pointless him playing an hour every match. Is he fit or isn't he. It isn't Keiran Lee
Leave Shoretire out of the squad. Better putting a B teamer in. Tell Traff no red cards if a strikers through let him have it.
Sheehan Morley Dempsey. Get them ticking.
Pressure off. Forget the gas, save the energy.

OohMac Would not disagree about Toal needing more game time. Might be a good idea for Santos to blow some cob webs away by getting an hour. Entirely agree about Shoretire - he's not impressed me one iota. I hear what you say about Trafford but it doesn't change my mind about wanting him to stay and us being his best option if we go up. He and City would just have to be persuaded about that.

I’d have thought you’d be disappointed with the contract extension OM, given how much you “rate” Evatt? I’m really pleased he’s extended because despite some elements of his management I think he’s done a remarkably good job given the hand he’s been dealt. As for Trafford and Bradley, I just can’t for the life of me believe Traf thinks he’s got any realistic chance at all of getting anywhere near the first team for Pep. As good as he’s been at this level and with unquestionable potential to get there one day that day isn’t now for me. Assuming we do go up I see no reason why he won’t come back here once he returns to Maine Road and reality strikes. No way is he going to settle for playing U23 level or be a bit player with everything he’s experienced here and hopefully what’s still to come. There may be other Championship clubs after him but why risk it not working out when he can have another year here? As for Bradley, I’d rate him as having far more chance of making the first team at Liverpool but even then I’m not sure he’s entirely ready for it and likewise another season at a level up would do him no harm. My fear is that the fees City and Pool would want may be out of our reach and they’ll go elsewhere. Generally I think only Sheehan is really worthy of another contract and maybe MJ now he’s fit if we don’t go up. I’m sure Evatt has a long list of possibles for every circumstance and since most players now wait until, all offers are in before signing I don’t believe the wait for the play off games will be a problem in who we get. As for Sunday we’ll win so it’ll be a “home game” for me in the second leg whoever it is but I’m assuming Barnsley.

Tell Traff no red cards if a strikers through let him have it. 100% agree on this. We just can't have Dixon in goal for the play offs.

Personally, I’d be shocked if both Bradders and Traff are not throwing a curve ball to the Wanderers supporters In that they have already agreed to stay for another season but have to keep their cards close to their chest.
Let’s face it, Evatt must be working hard in the background to secure these 2 and that’s probably aided his own contract extension, I mean, it’ll make life easier for him if he can secure these 2 for 1 more season
As has been said by others (W63) they are not going to break into their relevant first teams, not in a million years, we all know their strengths and weaknesses and they’ve had them on display for 40 odd games at L1 level and we all watch Premier League football on SKY so we know what level is required and they have not got that yet, not at PL level and probably even not in the top 6 Championship level.
They could, however, end up at another local side like Blackburn or Preston, possibly Stoke or even Huddersfield now they’re a Championship club again, but that said, they might be seen as too much of a risk all the same.
If the do go back and I’m way off the mark, they’ll both drift into the wilderness. They are currently plying their trade in a magnificent stadium, a snooker table pitch, under a ‘winning’ manager, with a robust following of 16-18000 every home game and they’ll not get that anywhere else, it could end up being their worst career decision if they think they can break into the PL

That’s my fear for them too rioch. It’s easy for players performing at lower levels, which we are currently, to believe 5hat they’re better than they are. Trafford in particular is nowhere near ready for the PL and I hope you’re right about them trying to keep their cards close to their chest rather than believing their own hype because it can lead them to very bad decisions. Bradley seems a really level headed sensible young man and I’m sure he will very soon achieve his first team PL goal but I’m not sure I could say the same about Traf I’m afraid who seems a bit zany, like many keepers I suppose? Time will tell but I’d love to see them back here next year but I think it would have to be in the Championship for us to have any chance.

Well we're off to Bristol this morning, or should I say quite a bit north of Bristol for tonight. Lots of hotels were booked up down south presumably because of the coronation. I'm hoping for a confidence boosting win and more than anything no injuries (or sending offs😀). I think both Traff and Connor are not ready for their respective clubs yet and need more playing time. Presumably their clubs and agents are talking to them and trying to progress their careers. Connor needs to bulk up he's far too lightweight for the PL. Would love him here again. Traff is not getting anywhere near City's first team. Unfortunately lots of keepers seem to be held as squad members during their careers. (Teams have 2 and 3 keepers that never get a game) I fear this is what will happen to Traff. He'll move to a Championship club and only be a back up. We've made our most important signing for next season already. Mr Evatt 👏👏 Football is life 😀😀

Seems like Rico could be starting the game today but I hope that doesn’t mean moving Jones who works best with Bradley? I can’t see him doing more than 45 minutes anyway and since Toal himself is only just back from injury I’d give them one half each. Other than that it will be interesting to see who the ones with knocks are.

I'm not over the moon because I think we can be better but Evatt has got one promotion, one top 10, 1 cup and a playoff. If he left and we brought someone else in I doubt we'd crumble and head back to L2. If we got Wilder in, who I think will be released from Watford, we may even look to win the league.
