DavidM - You missed a mark for the best player on the pitch - Bannon. Shame he wasn't in a white shirt this time. Dempsey improved once he played central midfield - he's not a left winger for me. If finances allowed, I'd replace all our forwards. Charles is a one trick pony and we don't play to his strength. Baka is almost as quick and has more aerial ability but not prolific enough. Bodi has no ball control and Dapo is too lazy to chase down and harry defenders when they have the ball in their penalty area. Kachunga is too light weight and pushed off the ball too easily. We'll still win more games than we lose but it's the play offs at best without a regular goal scorer.

I didn’t post earlier rioch because I needed time to calm down!! Absolute and utter rubbish today and I largely blame the manager. 5 changes again from midweek following five changes then from the previous game. Star man on Tuesday, Aimson left out to accommodate Santos. Our highest quality midfielder Lee, left out and not even one of the again 5 subs despite no creativity. Kachunga!! What does he contribute? You can put this down to a bad day at the office but that would be glossing over our long standing weaknesses. I know we have no money to make quality signings like big club Fleetwood can but surely we could expect a little effort from the players at least? I was feeling really confident this season and today we could have sent a message to everyone in L1. Actually we did but not the one we needed to.

Rail strike kept me away. Three Santos errors in two goals. First a casual back pass- then he just lummoxes in no man's land blocking his keeper with men unmarked- classic amateur play. On goal 2 he doesn't press is turned and they score.
I counted over 20 goals down to him last season and here we go again with two. I know he has strengths but he can't head a ball and doesn't jump and he can't mark. Throw in tje casual lummoxing and by contrast Aimson an average at best league one CH looks good in comparison. Can we not sell?
Hopefully by the time my attendance can start we'll be better. We need a notion of what our best team is?

Sunday morning reflections.
As I said in the preview, defensively we still go to sleep.
Santos’ record with casual/sloppy play is now building up.
The play out from the back which predominately involves Santos is so slow and predictable. The opposition, particularly when they are leading, just let him have the ball. We are so slow coming out from the back.
We also lost too many balls in the air yesterday – Gregory won 2 dangerous headers.
Midfield we were just not in it.
Williams was OK defensively but Morley could not get involved and managed a number of poor passes and some awful dead balls.
Dempsey seemed to be pushed out too far left and could get involved.
Morley so slow to cover for their 1st goal. He was just stood in the area whilst an unmarked man tapped in the goal.
Forwards – we suddenly have hit a problem here.
1 goal in 3 games – hardly any chances created.
Apart from Bradley, we had no attempts on goal from a forward.
I believe that we have a good goalscoring forward line but it is not right at the minute. Bakayoko is not a starter and the manager cannot find a role for Afolayan.
To me Bodvarsson and Charles should be our front two.
The manager made a comment about the line up saying that it was the same as Wycombe and we played well then. We may have played well but Wycombe could/should have scored 2 or 3 goals that day. Did he not see that?
ITV4 EFL show was useless.
Missed showing Bradley’s miss and then said that we had played well.
Ridiculous.

I don’t want to sound like I’m beating Santos up or anything but I really don’t see what other people see in him he is a goal against waiting to happen. I’m not to sure what we can do about it because Ian think’s the ☀️shine’s out of his bottom and he will always be the first name on the team sheet. Never mind eh if Ian’s happy we just have to keep supporting them once in never out onwards and upwards COYWM

The way Evatt chopped Crellin and also Dixon due to their constant foul ups, maybe he should do the same to Santos
And I still say it We need a proven goal scorer If that’s at all possible

I thought Dion was the proven goal scorer rioch? He hasn’t really shown it here so far but maybe that’s because he’s never had a settled partner? My biggest complaint against Evatt is that he chops and changes too much. I don’t actually mind subbing players after 70 minutes or so if they’ve run themselves out but the constant rotating of players means they never create a partnership. Since he’s moved Dapo inside he seems to have lost his shine and for me Bakajoko is not a first team starter. Bod is obviously class but probably not a prolific scorer although partnered week in week out with Dion, I think they could work together well. If Evatt thinks he’s got to rotate and change the team every week purely to keep players happy then I suggest we have too many players and we need to cull a few. When Isgrove and Sheehan are back fully in the fold the situations going to be even worse. Assuming Bod and Dion start and MJ is a constant it means only two places from the following: Dempsey, Dapo, Sheehan, Morley, Sadlier, Lee and Thomason and that doesn’t include the likes of Isgrove and Kachunga, or any of the potential B team players. That means at least 7 first team players and potentially 9 for two midfield spots so good luck to Evatt keeping that lot happy. With the system we play it means no room for Dapo on the left again so he’s got to fight for a midfield place if he’s not figuring as a striker. When you consider the wages all these are earning it seems time for a cull to me in order to strengthen other areas, including maybe that proven goal scorer you mention rioch? Potential outs for me would be Isgrove, Kachunga, Sheehan and Bakajoko to free up space, cut wages and allow us to strengthen defensive midfield and Central defence where we’re weak.
