We have 60% possession for the whole of the half and done nowt with it at all
Plymouth 7 corners And 2 goals to the good tell you that possession means nothing
If this does not become a game of 2 halves I’d like to see someone else take charge as Evatt is not the man to progress us any further Thanks for everything Ian but this ain’t good enough at all
I’ve tried to stay positive for as long as I can but this is embarrassing and akin to the early start of last season whereby he has no ideas how to change things
I meant to add that due to his erratic gob and the yellow cards he’s amassed (absolutely unprofessional) he now cannot even bark out instructions from the sidelines

Utterly embarrassing.
So one-sided. Endless Plymouth attacking. 2 goals - though both from corners which is inexcusable.
Defence is shambolic.
Midfield is just being overrun.
Attack is non-existent. Bakayoko a waste of space. Afolayan just nothing.
Awful.

Well that's halftime two down we need a big dressing room from Ian as we don't seem to be in this game at the moment, first goal free header back across our box and nobody puts a foot through it to clear the danger, second goal free shot from the edge of the box let's hope for better in the second half COYWM

No defence , no attack . Tentative. Brockbank a disaster again. Goal 2 a carbon copy of McLean goal with defender ( Brockbank?) shying away.
In terms of marks it's 8 for Lee 2 Bar.
The game is not yet lost but morale is rock bottom. Thomason is a must asap. Don't much mind after that.
2-2 is possible 6-0 is likelier?

Absolutely shambolic.
Summed up by the last 5 minutes when both Gordon and Brockbank passed back into the waterlogged pitch.
Shocking, shocking performance.

Better second half I suppose? But a very comfortable home win by an average team.
If Sarcevic scores which had he shot earlier he would have. Or if Kachunga doesn't bottle his clear chance, who knows.
Like for like subs were not required. We lost the chance to use Thomason. Kachunga and Doyle added nothing. Dapo flattered to deceive.
Problem is that we can't do set pieces, overplay and can't play final balls. So we have no attack and no defence. Our midfield options are 'the best in the division' ha!
Still with Freddie Hill now above we at least had a dissatisfied deluge but our antedeluvian strategy and play left us arkless and pointless

Total embarrassment 3-0 I don't know weather to laugh or cry but it's not the managers fault that we can't score for toffee and we can't defend even if our lives depended on it never mind we have an easy game on Saturday hahahahaha stay safe one and all COYWM

After Morecambe (24) we join AccyStan and Charlton Pathetic with the worst goals against column (23)
Begs the question how we managed to bag 20 goals
Still the best side Ian??

That was pathetic!
- Uttering woeful defending from corners.
- Midfield totally outfought.
- Attack non-existent until Sarcevic came on.
Our start to the game was horrendous. They swarmed over us and last year’s failings with corners came back to haunt us. We totally left their no 6 clear to head the ball back into the 6 yard box where we stood like statues while Plymouth players charged in and eventually scored.
We then left a man in 10 yards of space on the edge of the box from yet another corner to shoot in. Awful, awful defending.
Apart from one easy-to-save shot from Sheehan, we contributed nothing to the first half. We had 56% possession but they had 13 shots and 9 corners to our 1 shot and 1 corner. Hopeless.
Second half was a little better and we got some shots in but all Afolayan’s shots went straight into the keeper.
In reality, Plymouth settled for a 2-0 win very early on and easily contained us.
Until the manager made subs with Doyle, Sarcevic and Kachunga coming on. Yet again, it was a like or like change so our play was exactly the same. Sarcevic did though liven us up but then missed a sitter when he got through and made space but amazingly shot wide. If that had gone in who knows but, despite a brief flurry, Plymouth were comfortable.
The monsoon then came and our player’s brain cells gave up. First Gordon played a back pass which stuck in the water and they had a clear chance which they lobbed over the bar.
Brockbank didn’t learn and tried to pass back to Dixon from nearly on the halfway line. Of course, the ball stuck in the water and Dixon was facing 3 men clear through on him. We almost cleared as the ball stuck in the water but, of course, our defence cannot clear loose balls and it finished up in the net.
An awful, awful embarrassing defeat. Please no one say well we were playing the top of the league! We just did not compete. Shameful.
Marks:-
Dixon - 5 Not sure about the 2nd goal unless he was unsighted.
Brockbank - 2 Dreadful game finished off by giving them a goal. His forward passing yet again was terrible. Caught out too often.
Gordon - 3 Not much better but did try and link with Afolayan.
Johnston - 4 Couldn’t handle the movement of the Plymouth forwards.
Baptiste - 3 Slow. Very slow. Got caught out quite a few times.
Williams - 5 Tried to hold midfield and was probably our best man.
Lee - 5 I thought he was OK and was surprised he was subbed.
Sheehan - 3 Slow in thought. One shot in first half then truthfully nothing. Got Lee booked by being caught in possession.
Afolayan - 3 First half just ran into opponents and complained. Got booked for dissent – constant moaning. Second half, 2 or 3 shots but all at the keeper.
Bakayoko - 2 Dreadful. Couldn’t hold up the ball. Brushed off the ball so easily.
Isgrove - 4 A few little moves but too often delayed the ball into the box.
Doyle - 4 Normal running.
Sarcevic - 5 Missed a glorious chance but at least sparked the team up a bit
Kachunga - 1 Hopeless AGAIN! Chose to try and pass (and failed) when clean through.

Very worried. Started the season ok maybe running off adrenalin from last season but we've run out of steam completely and Evatt doesnt seem to have an answer for it. To be honest I dont think hes asked the question. Just wants to sugarcoat everthing.
Its hard because Evatt hasnt been backed. And we need better than what we have. That competition for places is a farce because we have too many CBs/DMs(that cant even be registered) and no option for specific roles like RB, LB and more importantly a striker.
But I think Evatt recruited badly last season(and blamed Phoenix) and this season didnt recruit in the right areas or just didnt recruit well.
Some of the errors just take me back to that Keith Hill team of rejects thrown together.
Real work starts here, from top to bottom people need to step up. Sharon have you done enough to really give us a chance? Ian are you doing enough on basic training(as a defender you should be embarrassed at our goals against record) stop the imitation game and start doing things your way. Or finding your way.
Players- how many L2 players are still in the mix here. I'd say most.

Onwards and upwards stay safe one and all COYWM

After a terrible start this is the sort of game we might have drawn, even won, last season, and at times it looked on the cards, and may have happened if Sarvcevic had converted his easy second half chance, and if the heavens hadn't eventually opened full throttle. In the first half they ran at us, and we failed to do likewise. If we had I think we could have prevailed. We are certainly missing both injured full backs, particularly Jones's powerful running, which, strangely Brockbank is failing to emulate. He did a lot of that last season when playing at left back. Up front we fail to realise when the opposition defence is rocking, and subsequently fail to take advantage of promising situations. Cooler heads are needed there to turn the screw. I feel Thomason is needed in that regard, while Afalayon is lacking the kind of support he might give on the left.
Overall , though depressed over the result, I am not despondent. We are on a learning curve and some major components are missing through injury and poor recruitment, inluding the loaning out of Politic and Darcy.
