Hello all, I come in peace from the Bolton Nuts forum.
I would have preferred to contact the site Administrator directly before introducing myself but I note that Realtrotterforever has not been on the site since the 9th July and Burnden Park who is listed as the moderator has not been about for almost a year now.
In fact including myself there only appears to have been ten members visit the site in the last 24 hours.
For those of you who may not have heard much about Bolton Nuts forum previously, we are fellow BWFC based forum which has been up and running for well over four years now. We are a very busy and active forum who don't take ourselves too seriously.
We are a very active and innovative forum, so much so that we have grown far larger than Burden Aces forum (which you probably are aware of) and provide online live commentary of all Bolton games during the season, globally - all for free!
We talk about all and everything from Bolton and football in general to national and world events (Brexit, The tragedy in France yesterday. The new PM and her cabinet), to mundane stuff such as worst actor, Tour de France, and what did you have for your dinner! We also have just raised almost £100 for charity and good causes from our Euro 2016 football sweep.
We also love a good laugh.
We believe that the more people who would like to join in with the banter and chip in with their news and opinions, the better it is for all of us on Nuts.
Please then spare a few minutes to Google our name and visit our site and see for yourselves what we are about.
If you like what you see please feel free to join in with the fun, if you don't then thank you for at least giving us a few minutes of your time to check us out.
Thank you for allowing me to post up this invite and hopefully I've not offended anybody by doing so.
Much appreciated.

Don't worry nuts, the regulars are just sleeping until there is something interesting to talk about. We may be fewer in numbers than your site but we have some quality posters on here as you'll see during the season. I'm sure most look at other sites too so good luck with yours and let's both hope this year there is a lot more good to talk about on the football side of BWFC wherever that is than tin the recent past.

Well the results a bit disappointing I have to say but if the possibility of re-signing David Wheater is true it will more than make up for it.

Thanks for all your comments so far.
It would be good to hear from Real Trotter Forever on his return.
Sorry I'm not quite used to your site yet and seemed to have pressed a wrong button or something and created that 'bubble thing above that I can't seem to somehow delete.
At least it is a bit different from your normal posts!

'His return'? 💥💥 You changed gender over the summer RTF?
Your first paragraph is pretty condescending tbh pal we have a great forum here and a lot of us have been together since the old Bolton news forum. RTf, Trotter and a few others have put a lot of effort in over the years with organised fantasy leagues etc. Like myself they have lives away from the forum but we're all back during the season.
ps are we doing a fantasy league this year? Trotter/RTF?

Trotter/RTF? To be honest the paragraph was only to explain why he didn't seek approval for the invite so no hard feelings. This is a quiet thread but quality not quantity. Get no idiots trying to troll, because there aren't thousands of posts you can read them all thoroughly without skimming and when we do differ, which happens, it never gets personal and both sides are allowed to make their own case. Such as the Bogdan Lonergan saga which is now Evolved into the Clattenburg Feud. I'd say we have a good range from eternal optimist to my glass isn't even half full, it's not even a glass it's a plastic cup types and a range of fairweather fans to those who travel the country....and these travelling fans never judge or think they're better than the people who can't afford to go or simply have no interest. We also have match reports that are far superior to The BN and far more accurate(if you deduct 2 stars from Liam Trotters rating). I will go to your site and have a look, no reason you can't be both but it's good people here. As said quality over quantity!

Bloody hell Oom, I was thinking of pushing through a loan move to the LionOfViennaSuite until I read your poignant speech. Jus kidding of course but I do agree, my vocabulary would bit stretch to the fair and reflective points you've made, so, well said 👍

Yes, good response OM, definitely quality over quantity here and no earthly reason as to why we can't visit both sites. Lots of two line comments on the Nuts site but nothing like the detailed and informed posts delivered here so thanks to all and hopefully some more positive ones this coming season.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
As I said originally I come in peace and everything I have said has been factual, so I have no idea where anyone may have got the idea that I have been condescending in any way???
Bolton Nuts was set up over four years ago by three long time forumers who had been on many previous sites but for various reasons never actually found one to our overall liking.
Circumstances occurred such that we ended up setting up our own site more for our own amusement than for anything else, to talk about BWFC and anything else that came to mind.
We, the founders are not youths by any means, the youngest amongst us is in his forties with the oldest being in his sixties, so we have been around the block a time or two and probably of the same generation and social-economic grouping as most on here.
We tend to treat our members as grown ups and more often than not allow themselves to self moderate.
Yes you do find posts of two sentences or less on Nuts but I can see many of the same on here too!
Yes not all our posts are 'quality' but neither are all of yours.
Contrary perhaps to some of your initial opinions about Nuts there are plenty of 'quality' posts on there as you would expect from a membership that contains many successful professional career persons, which include people who have stood for a major political party in the recent General Elections, senior local government officials, prospective ward councillors, lecturers, entrepreneurs, business owners, skilled and unskilled tradesmen and homemakers, carers and those currently out of work - so you certainly don't have a monopoly quality posts, in fact number wise, simply based on how busy our respective sites are, we have more quality posts per day than you will - and just for balance, we would also have more 'two line' non-quality posts (if that is how you would wish to define them) than you would!
Our forum though does not wish to consider ourselves elitist's though and everybody irrespective of their IQ or grammatical abilities are more than welcome on Nuts.
Obviously a single forum will not be able to satisfy everybody's taste and preferences, we know that from our own personal past experiences but forums that have in the past we have had issues with such as Bolton Banter and Burnden Aces have ceased to exist or are dead in the water, whilst Nuts flourishes by the day. Maybe that is because we have no ulterior for being than just to chat about Bolton and have a bit of a laugh at the same time.
We don't make anything from running the site, we are more than happy to pay the few quid from our own pocket to fund the forum and put up the odd competition prize fund every now and again.
We would like to extend the hand of friendship to you as the more and varied people involved in a forum the better it is for all of us who partake in it but if you rather decline outright our invite, or decide to be active on both sites, you are obviously free to do so.
If we manage to get our act in order for the new season kick-off we intend to start a blog around the games and publish it not only on our site but through our twitter feed (1,500 followers) and the global NewsNow outlet, and if you have no objections we will post it up on here also.
Indeed, if any of you would like your posts to be blogged out by us just let me know and I will gladly arrange it where possible.
If anyone also would like live match day commentary of the games irrespective of where you live in the world, you can find it on Nuts - we have regular listeners from France, Germany, the Caribbean, South Africa and the USA, as well as assorted places throughout the UK!
I hope this post gives you a better understanding about what our site, Bolton Nuts, is about.
Thank you for reading this post.

It seems a worthy site to me, perhaps a tad difficult for a newcomer to differentiate between original posts and source material which can be uncredited..but some good discussion and I daresay it's easier when you get the hang. For my part I'm just addicted to BWFC and will read anything anywhere. I'm happy enough reading posts here and it's great that as mentioned above there is online space for reasoned argument between reasonable people! I just hope the 2016 to 2017 BWFC are worth it.

Thanks for the kind words about Nuts, Andy.
I'm a little surprised about your remark about source material being uncredited as it is accepted practice on Nuts not just to quote our sources but to link to them usually as well also.
Maybe you've just seen one that slipped through our net perhaps - if so we are sorry about that.
It will get easier for people once they get the hang of a different site in just the same way I'm learning from my mistakes on here - as per the rogue speech quotation mistake I made on one of my earlier posts above.
If you like details and statistics we are the custodian site of Nigel Sheppards fantastic data base on BWFC stats that he stopped compiling a season or two ago - see here -
www.boltonnuts.co.uk/stats.html
We are actually looking for someone who would love to bring the stats up to date and continue with them into the new season and beyond.
If you would be interested or know anyone who would, we would be absolutely delighted to here from you or anyone else for that matter.
Thank you once again.

It may be one current poster who is leaving things uncredited. I see that others do.. She (I guess) may need reminding?.But anyway thanks for links. A good Holding thread I think.I'm not a stats.expert but it's useful to have them. I always enjoy statistical posts.
Meanwhile roll on the season and yes perhaps a fantasy league. I can't get to pre season games and anyway I'm of an age to regard this as the cricket season and Test Matches beckon. In addition Lancashire are playing two young Boltonians the best opener in years and an actual leg spinner Parkinson a year of Parkinsons!. So BWFC can take their turn. But it's good to see that pre season wins seem to matter to this manager
